Who doesn’t love window clings? When my boys were little, they would spend hours playing with the window clings when I would buy them for the holidays.  But there is no need to wait for a holiday to entertain them with window clings…let them make their own DIY Window Clings at a fraction of the cost and in any pattern, shape, design, or holiday you can think of. These clings are seasonal but think favorite cartoon, Disney or video game character!

DIY Window Clings are an easy project to get the kids crafting for any upcoming holiday or occasion. The perfect Valentine's Day Kids Craft decoration!

I am warning you now…this is extremely addictive.  I find myself making these even when there are no children around.  Is that wrong?  I think not.

DIY Window Clings Supplies:

  • Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint (in color of your choice) (colors of your choice for holiday/occasion)
  • Printed images on copy paper (optional)

DIY Window Clings Directions:

Step 1)  Print out the image you want to trace.  If you or your child likes to draw you may not need this step.

Step 2)  Lay printed image (right side up) on a flat surface.

Step 3)  Lay Reynolds Freezer Paper on top of the image (shiny side up) and tape it to the table or other flat surface.

Step 4)  Use your Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paintin the color of your choice and draw or trace your image. You want the decals to be fairly thick. If they are too thin, they will rip when you try and remove them from the freezer paper. You can make your image in parts and put them together on the window for some variety.

The hardest part is waiting for them to dry. It will take 48 hours to ensure they are completely dry.

I love the way these DIY Window Clings turned out and the best part is…they can be re-used year after year.  Simply remove them from the mirror or window and place them back on the freezer paper.  Cover with another piece of freezer paper (make sure the shiny side is touching the window cling) and store flat at room temperature.DIY Window Clings are an easy project to get the kids crafting for any upcoming holiday or occasion.
