St Patrick’s Day is one of those holidays that come and go so quickly. If you are like me you don’t always have time for a full decor change every season. I thought I would share with you a couple quick and easy projects to throw into your decor for a little showing of the green.
I have provided affiliate links for your shopping convenience. If you buy something from clicking one of my links, I will get a commission from the sale. I’ve had this Cricut Machine for some time now but to be quite honest I was slightly intimidated and so I left it in the box. I am so glad that I finally bit the bullet and started to explore. What I found out was that it wasn’t intimidating at all! Of course I have a lot more to learn (and believe me I will because I am hooked) but cutting the shamrocks for this simple project was quick and easy. You can find some great tutorials on Youtube if you too need help getting started.
The Cricut Explore Air hooks up to your computer (it is wireless) so you design right there on your screen! As a side note, do you ever notice that I’m not big on perfect photography? I should have removed my measuring tape and diet Dr. Pepper but to tell you the truth it’s all part of the process. I don’t create projects in perfectly staged steps and I just take you on the journey with me. Sorry for the distractions 😉
After your project is designed, line up your paper on the Cricut mat, load it into the machine and watch it do it’s thing!

Rustic St Patrick’s Day Instructions:
Step 1) Make a Pallet sign in the size you desire. You can see how to make a larger pallet sign on our Reclaimed Wood State Sign tutorial.
Step 2) Cut out a shamrock shape and the word LUCKY. You can do this with a Cricut Machine like I did or cutting your own shamrock stencil and using stencils for LUCKY. You can also just free style it all!
Step 3) Lay your stencil down and find the approximate center.
Step 4) Thin out green acrylic paint with water to make a wash.
Step 5) Using a sponge brush fill in the shamrock shape.
Step 6) With a small brush outline the shamrock with green acrylic paint.
Step 7) Using your LUCKY template fill it in with the green acrylic paint wash or full strength paint.
Step 8) Let the paint dry and then go over the sign with 220 grit sandpaper. This will lighten the sign and give it a more worn look.
I am completely in love with this sign! Especially with the pallet boards apart at the top, so much character!
Simple Shamrock Decor
For this little project I just cut out Shamrocks in different sizes with the Cricut.
Put some glue around the edge and added glitter.
Then I glued a magnet on the back and attached them to a couple old cheese graders I use for my everyday decor! I also painted a couple of my Decorative Orbs Made with Embroidery Hoops. Another simple and easy project that can fit into any of your everyday or holiday decor.
Each and everyone of you inspire me and I LOVE to see the work that you’ve created. Feel free to share with me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
