Supplies for Homemade Signs from Burlap:
- Piece of tight weave burlap
- Freezer Paper (No substitutions!)
- Piece of Printer Paper
- Iron
- Scissors
- Spray Adhesive
- Computer
- Printer
- Picture Frame
Instructions for Homemade Signs from Burlap:
Step 1) Iron the burlap material until all wrinkles are out.
Step 2) Lay a piece of Freezer paper on the burlap with the shiny side facing the burlap and iron paper to burlap. This will adhere the burlap to the freezer paper so it will not slide while putting it through your printer.
Step 3) Turn the burlap to face you and place a piece of computer paper on the burlap. This is going to act as a template to make the burlap the perfect size for your printer.
Step 4) Cut around the piece of computer paper.
Step 5) Go to latlong.net and plug in your address. That will give you the Longitude and Latitude points of the property you want to display.
Step 6) Create your own navigation sign or use this template to plug in your latitude and longitude points.
Step 7) Put the burlap attached to the freezer paper in your printer. All printers are different. Make sure to put the burlap in so the printer will print on the burlap side and not the freezer paper size.
Step 8) Send the sign to the printer from your computer so it will print.
Step 9) Pull the printed burlap off of the freezer paper.
Step 10) Spray what you are using for the backing in your frame with removable spray adhesive. If there is not a piece of cardboard in your frame to glue the burlap to, simply cut a piece of cardstock to size.
Step 11) Put the burlap sign in your frame!
There you have it! A longitude and latitude navigation sign to display that is quick and easy enough for anyone! It truly is that simple! These homemade signs make the perfect gift!
