Lawn Jenga is the perfect backyard game. It’s easy, fun and all age levels can play. Build your own giant Jenga game out of 2 x 4 boards with this step by step tutorial. We have provided all of the tips and tricks to ensure your DIY success.

Yard Jenga Tutorial

I’m so excited about this easy tutorial.  I promise you all that you can easily make Lawn Jenga yourself in just a few hours.  The longest part is waiting for the paint to dry (if you choose to paint it) so you can start playing.

Tools and Materials needed to make Lawn Jenga:

  • (7) 2 x 4 x 8
  • Mitre Saw
  • Measuring Tape
  • Palm Sander
  • Sandpaper
  • Paint or Stain
  • Polyurethane if staining
  • Paint brush

Directions to make Lawn Jenga:

 Lawn Jenga Cutting Pieces

Step 1:  Cut 2×4’s into 10 1/2 inch pieces using the mitre saw.  You are going to need 54 pieces all together for the game.

Lawn Jenga Sanding

Step 2:  Collect all 54 pieces and start sanding.  And, keep sanding . . . and sand some more.

Step 2:  Assemble into a Jenga tower.

OPTIONAL Step 3:  To add a little interest, we divided the pieces into 3 piles of 18.  We stained them Carbon Gray and Aqua but you could paint then all different colors if you want to be extra bright and fun.

Step 4:  Have fun!

Now, it’s time to get outside and play Lawn Jenga.

This would also be a great house warming gift to make someone or even a fun wedding gift. Wouldn’t you love to get this as a gift?

Tips for Building Lawn Jenga

  • Feel free to use spray paint to paint the pieces.
  • Make sure you have a container to store all your pieces in.  You don’t want to lose all those pieces or ruin your hard work.
  • Add some fun phrases to the back of the pieces for an element of surprise!

I hope I’ve inspired you to build your own Lawn Jenga so you can get outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather.

Each and everyone of you inspire me and I LOVE to see the work that you’ve created. Feel free to share with me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
