Do you enjoy a good Halloween Party? Halloween is not just for kids! I have a friend who throws an amazing costume party every year. It started off as a small party with a few pumpkins and spiderwebs and has developed into her home being transformed into a spooky wonderland!
Halloween Party Shopping
This year I got to help with the decorations and it was so much fun! Have you ever been to Savers? Don’t feel bad if you haven’t…it was my first time. My friend says its one of her go-tos for Halloween costumes & decorations. What? How do I not know about this place?
I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself into but you know I am always game for trying out a new place.
This is what I saw when I walked in…a costume superstore/upscale organized thrift store. They had new costumes and accessories and racks and racks of thrift store merchandise to create your own costume. If that wasn’t enough, they even had costume ideas displayed on mannequins.
They had huge bags of bones, caution tape, pumpkin-carving kits, spider webs and life-size skeletons (see previous pic).
I loved this creepy lady picture but we opted for the smaller photos put googly eyes on them.
They had crazy eyelashes, mustaches, wigs, jewelry, and so much more. My friend grabbed these beauties to wear with her Goddess costume…they were perfect.
To find our costumes, I headed to the thrift store section. You can’t see them in this picture but I found the perfect powder blue corduroy pants for my hubby. I also found this yellow/powder blue plaid blazer and western shirt which was perfect for his 70’s look. Then I headed over to the new costume area and grabbed his oh-so-awesome wig and mustache…isn’t he a hottie? I already had my shirt but I was able to pick up this faux fir vest and headband to top off my outfit.
Enlist a friend to be the official front door photographer! You will have these photos to share at future parties and your party goers will have a photo to remember the night! It’s a great gesture to offer your guest.
Halloween Party Decorations
The most budget friendly spooky Halloween party decoration is of course the spiderweb! Savers had awesome webs which were big enough and strong enough to drape everywhere to create a haunted feel to your entire home.
We put spiderweb up everywhere…on the ceiling; on the stairs, outside and in the entryway to welcome you guests.
Make sure to twist and turn them around anything you can. You can find webbing in colors to add some variety for very little money! When you think you are finished add more!
Skeletons come in all sizes! They can greet your guests…on a bicycle of course. lol
Remember those life-size skeletons in the first picture??? Well…grab some to sit around as extra guests…
Cook some up on the grill or if you’re only inside have some trying to escape from your oven…
Pull them apart and use them in unexpected places…
Let them lounge by the pool…
Let them hang around anywhere you might normally find regular people doing regular things….
Oh, and here is the head of the earlier skeleton just sitting there nestled in the succulents just waiting to pop out at you!
Set up a centralized vignette of a mixture of odd decorations and pull them all together with spider webbing and…a disco ball!
Having an extra hostess is always helpful! This little fortune teller creates a perfect opportunity for your guest to take snapshots to remember their Halloween party experience! (There is a good picture of my hubby’s powder blue cords. LOL).
This was seriously the best Halloween party ever…I am so glad I was able to be a part of it. Thanks Amy and thank you Savers for donating the product for our magical night.
Savers donated the product for this post. We did not receive any financial compensation and as always, my opinions are 100% my own.
