Supplies for DIY Candle Holders:

  • Pallet
  • Mitre Saw (This is the one I am using)
  • Drill
  • Screws
  • Battery Operated Candles
  • baling wire  or Picture Hangers (optional)

Instructions for DIY Candle Holders:

Step 1) Cut a pallet board the length you decide you want your candle holder to be. I made mine 8″ and 6″.

Step 2) Cut another pallet board for the candle to sit on. I cut mine 3″.

Step 3) Set your mitre saw at a 45 degree angle.

Step 4) Cut a pallet board from the corner on the 45 degree angle.

You should now have 3 pieces to put together for your DIY candle holder.

Step 5) Decide the height you want your candle to sit at on your board.  Start a screw from the back side of the board.

Step 6) Place the short square board on the other side and continue to screw it in securely to the longer board. See above photo.

Step 7) Put the triangle piece below the shelf piece.

Step 8) Screw the triangle to the back board and the shelf.

Now your DIY candle holder should look like this. All that is left now is to hang it! You can attach it directly to the wall or put a hanger on the back. You can buy one or do what I call a poor-man’s hanger!

Hanger for DIY Candle Holders:

Step 2 Wrap heavy weight wire around the 2 screws and cut to length.

Step 3) Using the wire cutters to wrap the wire if necessary.

Here is what your hanger will look like from the back. Now just drill a screw into the wall and catch the wire on it!

These candle holders would also add some warmth to any outdoor patio or deck! I love battery operated candles! They can add a little extra something to so many different spaces in and around your home!
