Supplies for Coupon Book:
- Cardstock
- Wooden box or other trinket box
- Aleene’s Tape Gun (I love this thing!)
- Tonic mini rotary perforator (This tool is perfect for making coupons)
- Measuring tape
- Fiskar paper cutter
- Embellishments of your choice
- Acrylic paint and sponge brush if needed for box
Instructions for Coupon Book:
Step 1) If you are using a box that needs to be painted you want to do that first inside and out. Notice I took the front hinge off of my box to make it easier to paint. I actually ended up painting it white before I reattached it.
Step 2) See the Instructions to make an accordion photo album in this tutorial: DIY Gifts: How to Make a Unique Photo Box Gift.
Step 3) Now you will turn your accordion album into a coupon book by using the perforating tool to create a perforation at each fold.
Step 4) Lay your album flat and with a straight edge roll the perforating tool all the way across each crease.
*Do NOT tear them apart. This is just to show you how it will come apart after you perforate it!
Step 5) Now cut different colors of card stock to write your coupon on and tape them down with the couple sided Aleene’s tape.
Step 6) Finish your coupon accordion book off with embellishments of your choice. I used ribbon in a loop so the album would be easily pulled out to look at and pick the coupon of your choice!
Step 7) Decorate the outside of your box .
How cute is this special little gift! It is super simple and each year you can use it for a new coupon book! Seeing this gift displayed all year around will make your children so proud of their gift and who doesn’t like using those coupons!
