DIY Stepping Stones Instructions:
Flower Pot Stepping Stones Option:
Step 1) Pour water into concrete mix a little at a time according to package directions until it is the consistency on chunky brownie batter.
Step 2) Spray Pan with cooking spray and pour concrete into mold (tin pan) and pack it down until smooth.
Step 3) Break pot in half and place in concrete. Add marbles to make flowers. Paint the stems with outdoor paint.
Step 4) Let dry 24 hrs. Peel off the tin and spray with an outdoor acrylic spray.
Father’s Day Stepping Stones Option:
Step 1) Mix concrete
Step 2) Spray Pan with cooking spray and pour HALF the concrete into the mold.
Step 3) Add a piece of chicken wire to help strengthen the stepping stone. This will help to prevent from cracking.
Step 4) Add remaining concrete to depth you choose. Smooth out concrete. If you are going to use the stepping stone for a path that will be walked on make sure to make the stone thick enough to avoid cracking.
Step 5) Add scrabble letters, wooden numbers, heart gem and wrench. Push all embellishments into the concrete so they will embed into the stepping stone. This is how I personalized mine. You will personalize your embellishments as you choose.
Step 6) Let dry and pull off the pan, or if using something that is not disposable carefully remove from pan.
Alternative stone and embellishment placement:
I found a tin pan that had a pattern on the bottom of it. I sprayed some spray adhesive on one side of the flat gems to help keep them from moving and put the concrete on top. As you can see the possibilities are endless!
