Summer has yet to officially arrive, but, we are getting there! A client of mine had asked if I would design a sitting area for her and I couldn’t say no! Typically I would call my husband John in since this is his area {shameless plug for LawnWorxLLC.com}, but, the space was rather small and it wasn’t going to take much.

I wanted to share with you the Patio Sitting Area Inspiration Board that I had created for her and at the same time I’m entering to win a contest 😉 from the fine folks at Porch.com! You guys and gals know how that goes, right?!? Afterall I did win the 2015 Trendsetter of the Year Award by doing something similar!!!

Alright so if you are a fellow DIY blogger and would like to enter this contest I challenge you to create your own Mood Board and gather inspiration to beautify your own space, a neighbors room or just to browse the web for ideas for a future remodel.

I failed at taking a picture of the patio so I had to find one and thank goodness for Porch.com 😉 For this patio sitting area the client was something simple that her family could enjoy together. The grill and deck near the house was already pretty nice and shaded. I wanted them to be able to sit in this area and just relax and read a book or enjoy the landscaping as well as sit to watch the kids play.

I knew I wanted to bring in a bit of color. I wanted to brighten the space up a bit, but, not to much. So I started with finding a outdoor area rug. I found this Caspian Area rug. It was only $179 from ATGStores.com. Now because the client wanted a sitting area I was on a mission to find something affordable and that would last for years to come. I also wanted to add a bit of landscape lighting to light the path leading out to the side yard and bring a bit of light to the sitting area. My client also special requested a Chandelier Bird Feeder so of course she got what she asked for! The last added touch was 4 Sky Blue Planters. They helped to tie the blue in the rug together with everything that was placed on the patio.

Here’s the items that you too can purchase:

If you are not familiar with Porch.com it’s a great place to go and find inspiration. You can search for rooms that you are looking to redo and browse similar layouts to your room.
