I love everything about this Halloween decoration from the burlap to the chevron and everything in between. The chevron decor trend became popular because, lets face it, it’s too cute!

Do you love the look of chevron decor but only in small doses? This dollar store decoration adds the perfect amount of scary to your Halloween decorations!

This project starts with a $1.00 picture frame.  Add some paint and embellishments and you have an easy, inexpensive Halloween decoration to use year after year.

Chevron Decor Frame Supplies:

  •  Sizzix Big Kick Die Cut Machine
  •  Tim Holtz Candlelight Fright Die Cut by Sizzix
  •  Tim Holtz Word Play Die Cut by Sizzix
  •  Chevron Stencil
  •  Black Craft Paint
  •  Stencil Pouncer
  • Burlap
  • Unfinished Wooden Frame
  • Orange Craft Paint or Spray Paint
  • Black Card Stock

Watch this video for a chevron decor frame step by step tutorial:

Chevron Decor Frame Instructions:

Step 1) Paint wooden frame orange with acrylic paint or spray paint. Let dry.

Step 2) Spray back of stencil with stencil adhesive and place on the frame. Using black paint and pouncer, paint chevron stripes. Let dry.

Step 3) Using the Sizzix Big Shot and die cuts, cut “eek” and candle out of black cardstock.

Step 4) Cut burlap by using the cardboard insert from the frame. Replace burlap and cardboard in frame.

Step 5) Glue Candle and “eek” on frame, making sure to check that the easel stick hole is on the bottom.

I love the way this turned out and depending on the color of paint you use…it can take on a completely different look.
