Distressing Glass with Paint Supplies

A glass vase (the more detailed the glass, the better)
Chalk-style paint (Check out my Chalk Paint Recipe for this project!)
Rubbing Alcohol
Cotton balls
Sanding sponge
Paint brush

Instructions

1. Clean the glass with the rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. Let dry.

2. Paint on a coat of chalk-style paint to glass. Let dry.

3. Using a sanding sponge, sand off the high spots of the glass detail.

Decorate to your heart’s content! I love to tie a piece of burlap or rope around vases to add texture. I also like to add a piece of something, whether it’s a old key, a sign or personalize it! If you know how to distress glass you will be able to transform old lights bought at your local thrift store, add color to a boring old vase…the possibilities are endless!
