Steps for Painting Cabinets Like a Professional

Tape off walls and floor adjacent to cabinet frame
Add rosin paper to floor tape and masking paper to wall tape.
Remove cabinet knobs & pulls (Place in a gallon freezer bag)
Remove cabinet doors and drawers
Label all doors and drawers
Remove hinges and label to match corresponding door*
Take all doors out of kitchen to sand and finish
De-grease doors, drawers and frames with TSP or Simple Green
Sand existing lacquer off of front and backs of doors, drawers and frames using 220-grit sandpaper
Wipe down all doors, drawers and frames with Paso or Krud Kutter
Caulk all joints and gaps in cabinets. Let dry.
Apply BIN Shellac Primer. Let dry.
Buff with 220-grit sanding sponge
Apply 1 coat of Latex enamel paint to doors, drawers, and cabinet frame. Let dry.
Buff with 220-grit sanding sponge.
Repeat with another coat of enamel paint. Let dry.
Buff and repeat with another coat of paint if necessary.
Re-hang doors and install drawers
Reattach hardware (new or existing)
*There is no need to label the hinges if you are replacing them
