They say the kitchen is the heart of the home, and as far as I’m concerned, that’s totally true. My taste in kitchens tends to vary. In farmhouse and older homes, I love an old-fashioned kitchen. Other times, I’ll walk into a modern home and be totally in love with a modern kitchen style. I really do love both of them equally. Today, I thought it would be fun to pick out some of my favorite modern kitchen items.

Let’s start with modern kitchen lighting:

Great overhead lighting is imperative in any kitchen. Without it, we’d all make some really inedible meals for our families. What do you think about these options?

Modern Style Kitchen Sinks and Faucets:

I really like goose neck faucets because you can fit deep pots under them. They’re also great for being able to wash your hands up to your elbows – when you paint and stain as much as I do, you need to do that a lot! A nice goose neck faucet paired with a sharp looking stainless steel basin will even make washing dishes more fun. Okay, so that’s a bit of an exaggeration. Washing dishes might not be more fun…but it’ll look fabulous!

Trivets, fruit baskets, and a stainless steel knife block make beautiful yet functional modern kitchen decor, don’t you think?

Maybe you’d like to set those things on one of these modern kitchen islands? I LOVE the look of these. They’re so sleek and professional looking!

And of course, no modern kitchen is complete without a table and set of chairs. These look great in a modern setting. Imagine a nice family dinner and talking about your day in one of these comfy options.

Can you imagine yourself in a kitchen with some of these pieces? Which ones do you like the best?
