How to Make An Easy Mason Jar Craft for Holiday Decorations

I love decorating with Red, White and Blue. It puts me in the American spirit and it’s a way to decorate our space at the lake. A few years ago I decided I needed to spruce the space up a bit and went crazy with the Red, White and Blue colors. I created a Pallet Flag, Votives out of Mason Jars and a American Flag Clothes Pin Wreath amongst a few other projects.

This Mason Jar craft came about as I was wanting to add color and also function as a utensil holder. I was tired of rooting through the big box of utensils to never find a fork. So this was my out!

Mason Jar Craft Supplies:

For this particular mason jar craft you’ll need Red, White and Blue Spray paint. I usually grab Rust-oleum brand because it’s a brand that I trust and have been using for 15 years with owning my own business, Rekindled Spaces. Now if you are looking for storage for cotton balls, qtips, etc, choose paint colors that will coordinate well with your home.

This mason jar craft really is easy. The hardest part is waiting for the paint to dry!

Mason Jar Craft Directions:

Step 1) To ensure that you don’t get overspray on the outside of your jar you can tape off with tape.

Step 2) Spray paint the inside of the mason jar. As always, you want the first coat to be light. This will tack up and you’ll want to spray paint your second coat.

Step 3) Dress your mason jar up a bit with twine or ribbon. I used a white paint pen to draw stars on one of mine.

It is just that easy! You can paint them any color you choose to match whatever decor you have!
