How to Make Decorative Letters with Paint Sticks

This project is fun, easy and the best part INEXPENSIVE! I love mixing mediums and the wood sticks with the industrial looking screws and bolts are a perfect combination!

Supplies for Decorative Letters:

Decorative Letters Instructions:

Step 1) Using your tin snips, cut off the indented part of each paint stick

Step 2) Lay out the sticks and, depending on what letters you are making, cut the other pieces to fit.

Step 3) Drill a hole at each intersecting point to hold the nut & bolt.

Step 4) Before fastening them together, spray paint the pieces in desired color. Let dry. Distress pieces with sandpaper if desired.

5) Assemble the letter by attaching the nut and bolt at each intersecting point, the nut is to the front of the letter.

There are so many possibilities with the letters. I did not like the look of a square “O” so I used small grapevine wreaths.  This made my “O”s a circle and added yet another medium and texture to my word!
