Lake House Fixer Upper: We Finally Have A House

Last week I shared the construction of the first level of our lake house fixer upper.  This week the second level is up and I can’t wait to share our house with you.

Here is the view from my master bedroom before the other 3 walls went up.  The lake is so beautiful.  Maybe I should just leave it like this and call it good?  LOL

It’s amazing how the walls are constructed.  They literally build it on the ground, add the soffett, the windows and the house wrap before they stand it up and attach it.  Wanna see???  Check out this video.

And there you have it…that’s how you put a wall up.

So you can see the upstairs is starting to take shape.  That super long wall is one wall of the master bedroom, master bath and closet, guest room and bunk room.

 

It’s amazing how different it looks when you add the roof lines and the different pitches.

And here is the back side of the house with the upstairs bedrooms.  That overhang you see is for our covered deck off our master bedroom.  I can’t wait to sit up there and drink my coffee in the mornings.

Here is a view from the inside of our master bedroom.  Isn’t the view incredible? It’s going to be my  happy place.

Now its time to work on the great room.  See that scaffolding?

Wood, wood and more wood!  This is the view from the main level look up into the stairway and laundry room.

The far wall is the fireplace wall.

Meanwhile…we poured new footers for the covered  back patio.

Can you believe it?  It’s finally a house with 4 sides and a roof…a pitched roof!

I’m not sure I ever thought this day would come. Our dream is finally becoming a reality.

Now the fun part starts…we need to start making selections for the inside of the house and I need your help.
