I’m so glad that you are here! I have an under bed storage project to share with you today that I did in my own home and love it. I can’t wait to share it with you so let’s get started…
As I continue my quest to get organized, I am discovering things about myself that I hope will help make this “GET ORGANIZED” resolution become part of my permanent lifestyle.
Here is what I have learned so far:
- I have to have set places for things to go. For example…if I have a file folder labeled monthly bank statements, then I will put the monthly bank statements where they belong. On the other hand, If I don’t have a specific place for something to go…it ends up in one big pile on my desk that quickly becomes 2 piles, 3 piles, etc.
I know I can get the paperwork organization under control pretty fast by labeling some file folders and filing away like I did with my Receipt Organizer.
What about those “Seldom-used but I still need them to be accessible” items? Everyone’s items will be different but let me give you some examples of what I am referring to:
- Extra blankets, linens for guests
- High heels, rain or snow boots {Have you seen my No-Sew Boot Socks?!? They are adorable!}
- Belts, handbags, scarves
These are the “hodge podge” items that get crammed in the never-ending nooks & cranny’s of my home (ie…a catch-all drawer, laundry basket, bottom of my closet, etc…)
- If I have “cool” storage containers…I am more excited to get organized. It is kind of like cute, new workout clothes…they make me want to work out. It is the same idea with my storage containers.
With that being said…I set out to find some easy, inexpensive storage options that I could “CUTE-IFY” to hold my “STUFF”.
You can ALWAYS find drawers at The ReStore for a song and when I saw these large but shallow ones for $4.00 less 20% I immediately thought…UNDER BED STORAGE ORGANIZERS!!!

Under bed Storage Supplies
- Rust-Oleum spray paint in desired color
- Scrapbook Paper, Wrapping Paper, or Fabric to line the inside of the drawer
- Mod Podge
- Sanding Block
- Casters, set of 4
- Drawer Pull
- Drill
- Drill Bits
- Hardware Template(optional)
Under Bed Storage Instructions
Step 1) Lightly scuff the front of the drawer surface with a medium/fine sanding block and wipe clean.
Step 2) Apply several coats of spray paint, letting dry in between coats.
DIVA TIP: Wheels can cost anywhere from $3.00-$7.00 each. You can buy a furniture dolly with 4 casters at Harbor Freight for $8.00 (That’s $2.00 a wheel!) and use the wheels for your project.
Step 3) Add your wheels.
Step 4) Glue your drawer liner with Mod Podge. I sealed my liner with an extra coat of Mod Podge for extra protection.
Step 5) Add a pretty drawer pull and you are set! Organize away!
