This DIY Chalkboard Shirt is one of the easiest projects I have EVER done here at DivaofDIY.com. I hope the next time that you need a unique shirt that you’ll consider creating one of these.

DIY Chalkboard Shirt

Are you needing to show your team spirit? Do you need a fun craft to do for a girls-night-in project? Perhaps you are looking to host a Pinterest Party, a bachelorette party or simply looking for a fun way to use up your Rust-oleum Chalkboard Paint? Whatever the reason this DIY Chalkboard TShirt is a fun project to do with adult and children alike.

Supplies

Begin by mixing your Rust-oluem Chalkboard Paint. You will mix 3 parts Chalkboard Paint to 1 part fabric medium to 1 part water.  The fabric medium will keep the fabric from becoming stiff and the water will help thin the  product to make it easier to paint with.

DIYChalkboardShirt1Place your shirt form inside your t-shirt. This makes for a nice and smooth work surface and ensures that the Chalkboard Paint doesn’t seep through to the back of the t-shirt. Be sure that the surface you are working on is nice and flat.

I start by drawing the outline of the heart (or whatever shape you desire).  Then fill it in with the chalkboard mixture. Let dry.  Repeat this step and let dry overnight.

Next, you will need to season your chalkboard.  What does that mean???  It means get it ready to write on.  To do this, take the side of a piece of chalk and rub it across the entire chalkboard.  Wipe clean with a damp cloth and you are good to go!
